The main subjects of BinaryEssence are the various aspects of data compression. General considerations, coding procedures and data formats will be presented in general and in detail.

On the one hand procedures are introduced being independent from a certain type of contents and are characterized by their applicability on arbitrary data. On the other hand technologies are described which focus on special types of data such as audio or video.
