GIF - Optimizations

Primarily GIF is used for graphics embedded within webpages. The web is still dominated by low data transfer rates and limited server performance. It is advisable therefore to utilise the abilities of GIF as well as possible.

At proper adaptation of the original data and adjustment of the export filters noticeable savings may be obtained. This reduces the time necessary to load the web pages, even if the user has fast internet access. Alternatively the savings may be reinvested to improve the website.

Some webpages contain more than 20 or 30 different image files for logos or buttons. By unsuitable settings a lot of unnecessary transfer times would arise. This is an avoidable inconvenience, in particular because the additional data volume only requires time and money and does not have any effect on the quality of the internet presence.
