ITU

ITU:   International Telecommunication Union

The ITU is the standardization organisation for matters of telecommunication. It had been founded in 1992 by merging of the CCITT (-> ITU-T) and CCIR (-> ITU-R). The ITU is an international body integrated into the UNO.
